We now have a revised date for the introduction of no-fault divorce. It is hoped that the Divorce, Dissolution and Separation Act 2020 will become reality on 06 April 2022.
Initially, the government indicated that the Act would come into force in the autumn of this year, but additional time is required to update the HMCTS’s online divorce system.
The news broke yesterday afternoon when Chris Philp MP, Parliamentary Under-Secretary (Home Office), responded to a question from Jane Stevenson MP regarding the progress made on implementing the Divorce, Dissolution and Separation Act 2020.
